Sammy and the Magic Football: Maradona’s World Cup Glory

Sammy loved football more than anything. After school, you’d always find him at the local field, practicing dribbles and dreaming of playing in the World Cup one day. One sunny afternoon, as he was kicking an old ball around, his foot hit something hard buried in the grass.

 

“Ouch!” Sammy exclaimed, bending down to pick it up. It was a shiny, golden football, unlike anything he’d seen before. Curious, he gave it a soft kick.

 

The moment his foot touched the ball, the world spun around him. When it stopped, Sammy found himself in a roaring stadium packed with fans waving blue and white flags. He looked down and gasped—he was wearing Argentina’s jersey!

“Where am I?” Sammy wondered aloud. Then he glanced at the scoreboard: Argentina vs. England, 1986 World Cup Quarterfinal, Estadio Azteca.
